"You gotta be the one,
You gotta be the way,
Your name is the only word,
The only word that I can say!"

Yesterday was my one-year wedding anniversary. I wasn't a New Yorker then. I was still a Washingtonian, though more of a Virginian at heart. That is why my husband and I chose our college town—Richmond, Virginia—as our wedding destination. We held our ceremony and reception at the Wilton House, an 18th-century James River estate run by the Colonial Dames of America. Don't worry, it was actually pretty casual. Carefully curated (with plenty of handmade crafts because my bridesmaids and I are DIY queens), but relaxed. Because love should be easy.
By day, I am Christine Stoddard, a New York-based magazine writer. By night I am the founding editor of the bewitching Quail Bell Magazine and a Brooklyn bohème who adores art, magic, and revolution. Really, those two personas are not all that different—at least if you're paying attention. This is where I dream, dabble, and muse. From time to time, you'll find me promoting the fairy punk lifestyle, too. And why not? It's addictive. Learn more about me.
