There aren't that many places in the world where you can waltz into a private loft and see underground artists' killing it all night long. But that's not exactly a rarity in Brooklyn, particularly Bushwick. Every art party is different, with some getting loud and raucous and others more subdued. Some show art on the walls; others have art on easels or tables or as on-site installations. Many have under-the-radar performers, whether rappers or bands or poets. Others have DJs. You can never know exactly what to expect. The only common denominator is art.
If you're looking for a full-immersion art party, I recommend Nude Weekend at the Wildlife Loft in Bushwick June 3-5. I'll be there with a newer piece previously shown at Greenpoint Gallery (one of three that made me a runner-up for best in show last month). Let's party at this "celebration of the human form and an exploration of social norms." Learn more here.
